(360 km-by car/11.5 km-on foot 3 hours)
Early breakfast. We go down to the "Transshipment" and go towards the Mongolian border to the village of Chagan-Uzun. Martian landscapes of Kyzyl-Chin:
Transfer to the Chulyshman River valley. A very beautiful road with two mountain passes and many lakes. On the way, we visit the Pazyryk mounds, which are the graves of tribal or tribal leaders, built mainly in the 5th-4th centuries BC. Next, we will have to overcome the Katu-Yaryk pass (from the Altai – "steep hill"). The serpentine road, cut right on the mountainside, descends into the Chulyshman Valley. On one side - a slope, on the other - a cliff hundreds of meters high. The length of the descent is 3.5 km.
Descent down and transfer to the camp site "Ezen". Accommodation in houses without bathrooms and hot water.
DAY 5
Kurkure Waterfall
6 km-on foot (2-3 hours), transfer to the Meshke-Tash base (40 km.)
The waterfall is located on the river of the same name, which flows into the Chulyshman, on the opposite bank from the camp site "Ezen". Kurkure in translation from Altai means "violent" and this is quite consistent with the nature of the waterfall. This is an incredible power, strength and at the same time defenseless natural beauty. The height of the waterfall is more than 30 meters. The population living in nearby settlements idolize this miracle of nature and consider it sacred. Therefore, cattle are not grazed for several kilometers around.
A walk to the waterfall with a water crossing takes about 3-4 hours.. Transfer to the Meshke-Tash base. Dinner and overnight at the base in cabins without bathrooms and hot water.
DAY 6
Stone mushrooms, the southern shore of Lake Teletskoye.
6 km-on foot (3 hours), 50 km-by car (1.5 hours)
We make a radial hike to the gorge of the Karasu River, to see an amazing natural object - "Stone mushrooms". "Stone mushrooms" - a very interesting natural structure, above the slope of the valley rise cones, on top of which, as if by magic, hold huge rock slabs. The base of the cone is quite loose sandstone, some "mushrooms" rise above the slope for 10 meters or more. From this place there is a beautiful view of the Chulyshman Valley, people here are simply fascinated by the greatness and beauty of nature.
Transfer to the south of Lake Teletskoye to Cape Kyrsay. Lunch. Accommodation in cedar houses without bathrooms and hot water. Possible walks on the lake, fishing, swimming. Supper. Bathhouse.
